Some of you might want to check out Violetta on Netflix. It's a Disney Channel Telenovela from Argentina that's been dubbed in multiple languages (including English) and is huge everywhere except USA and Canada. While the rest of the world is used to the concept of Soap style scheduling in primetime with shows like Eastenders, Coronation Street and GTST, it doesn't really work in North America and those shows are limited to daytime. So if House of Anubis couldn't make it with two 15 minute episodes back to back, a series with 80 hour long episodes every season wouldn't have a chance here. Some of you might also remember the actress who plays her aunt as Argentina's representative to the Disney Channel Games a few years ago.

The show wrapped up last year after 3 seasons, but this year a movie is coming out to bridge Violetta to her new act as TINI. No word yet on when and how the English dub of the movie will come to North America:

(Yes that's Sofia Carson playing the other girl in the tabloids)

Hollywood Records recently signed two stars of the show, you can see Martina Stoessel's debut video here with scenes from the upcoming movie:

She also did the Latin American dub of Let it Go:

(If you see the video, she has a tattoo on her wrist, Disney has a no tattoos policy, so for the entire series she always had a braclet on to hide it. It's the same reason why in Hannah Montana and Pair of Kings Mitchell Musso always wore long sleeves or a full body surf suit for beach scenes)

The TINI movie is now available On Demand, but unfortunately it's only the English dub. And based on the trailer, while the characters from Violetta were great, the movie characters (including Sofia Carson) are horrible as if they're just reading off lines during a lunch break.

Once the VOD window ends, Netflix should have the Spanish version with subs.

Also, the Disney tattoo policy hits the movie hard. There's one scene where Violetta is crying, and she's holding her arms awkwardly to hide the wrist tattoo from the camera.
