Quote from: Anne BeckerDisney will bring back its animated hit Kim Possible for a fourth season, resuming production soon on 22 new episodes. The action comedy about high school cheerleader-turned-superhero is one of Disney's biggest hits worldwide and runs on Disney Channel, Toon Disney and the ABC Kids daytime programming block on the ABC broadcast network. The show, executive produced by creators Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle, premiered in June, 2002.

Ensuring Kim's staying power is important to the commercial-free Disney Channel, as the show brings in revenue through off-television streams, such as its line of consumer products and its characters at Disney's theme parks.

To support the show's retail goods, Disney inked a multi-year agreement with Super RTL, which broadcasts the show in Europe. The company, owned equally by The Walt Disney Company and RTL Group, will join with Disney Consumer Products to take charge of some Kim Possible licensed products in Germany and German-speaking countries.

"Kim Possible," the Emmy Award-winning Animated Series, to Resume Production for Fourth Season

Walt Disney Television Animation to Produce 22 More Episodes of International Comedy/Action Hit

BURBANK, November 29, 2005 - Disney's "Kim Possible" the animated hit comedy/action series from Walt Disney Television Animation, will resume production for a fourth season (22 new episodes), it was announced today by Gary Marsh, President, Entertainment, Disney Channel Worldwide.

A worldwide hit, "Kim Possible" is from multiple Emmy nominated creators/executive producers Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle. Emmy nominee Steve Loter also returns as director and producer of the fourth season. "Kim Possible" is seen on Disney Channel, Toon Disney and the ABC Television Network's "ABC Kids" daypart.

Marsh said, "Mark, Bob, Steve and the entire team have delivered a great combination of comedy and action with an empowered female role model who uses her brain, heart and expertise to save the day."

Viewer's connection to "Kim Possible" has led to a successful off-TV franchise for The Walt Disney Company including Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable characters at Disney Parks & Resorts and Disney Consumer Product's line of "Kim Possible" branded products available at mass retailers nationwide.

Disney has entered into a multi-year agreement with Europe's strongest and widest reaching children's platform, Super RTL, which broadcasts "Kim Possible" and will, in coordination with Disney Consumer Products, be responsible for "Kim Possible" licensed product spanning multiple categories in Germany and other German-speaking countries. The license for "Kim Possible" branded home entertainment, interactive games and print categories will continue to be represented by Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Buena Vista Games and Disney Publishing. Super RTL is owned in equal shares by The Walt Disney Company and the RTL Group and reaches about 95 per cent of all the 35 million TV households in Germany.

The visually striking "Kim Possible," winner of one and nominated for eight Emmy Awards since its June 2002 premiere, tells the story of an average high school cheerleader, Kim Possible, who, in her spare time, happens to save the world from super villains. With the aid of her enthusiastic pal Ron Stoppable, his pet Naked Mole-rat Rufus, and their friend, the resourceful webmaster Wade, this contemporary heroine is capable in ways few high school students ever imagine. On the flipside, she realizes that defeating the bad guys comes easier than coping with the typical teen pressures of schooling and socializing.

Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle said, "We are delighted that we have the opportunity to answer the fans who have demanded to know what happens to Kim and Ron after their "happily ever after."

Fourth season highlights, from McCorkle and Schooley, are:

It's senior year now, so the stakes are raised. Dating changes everything for Kim and Ron. As if first love isn't challenging enough, they have mean queen Bonnie Rockwaller trying to sabotage them at every opportunity. She just can't stand to see Kim happy, especially since her boyfriend, Brick, has graduated and gone off to college.

On missions, we'll introduce colorful new villains and bring back some favorite allies. Now that Wade has finally gotten out of his room, he'll be dropping in personally to present Kim and Ron with new inventions and techno gear. In one episode, when the crime gets personal, Monique suits up and jumps into action alongside Kim. Once she gets a taste of real action, Monique becomes a valuable asset to Team Possible with her fashion skills applied for undercover disguises.

At school, Kim's senior year social scene will take a turn for the cursed when her rambunctious genius brothers skip a few grades into Middleton High. Kim will meet a mysterious relative, whose appearance will force Kim to make a dramatic choice. We'll also see more of Ron's home life this season, as his only child status comes to an abrupt end.
In addition to an Emmy Award and 8 nominations, the series other accolades are from the Parents' Choice Foundation, the International Animated Film Society's Annie Awards and Italy's 2003 Pulcinella Award for Best Program and Best TV Series for Children.

Actors providing the voices are Christy Carlson Romano as Kim Possible; Will Friedle as Ron Stoppable; Nancy Cartwright as Rufus; Tahj Mowry as Wade; Gary Cole as Dad; Nicole Sullivan as Shego; John DiMaggio as Drakken; Raven-Symone as Monique; Jean Smart as Mom and Kirsten Storms as Bonnie Rockwaller. The main title song is performed by Christina Milian.

"Kim Possible" airs daily (5:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel in the U.S. It also is televised weekdays (7:30 a.m., ET/PT) and weekends (3:00 and 4:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Toon Disney. On the ABC Television Network, it airs Saturday mornings (11:00 a.m., ET/10:00 a.m., PT) as part of the "ABC Kids" showcase
